Veneers

Have you dreamed of making changes to the appearance of your smile?

Whether you’re frustrated by chips and other structural flaws, you’re unhappy with the length or shape of your teeth, or you have stains that are resistant to professional whitening treatments, we can help.

The thin shells of porcelain known as veneers are a versatile treatment that can be used to either fix a single troublesome tooth or completely transform your smile.

What Are Veneers?

These tooth-shaped and enamel-colored porcelain shells are fitted to the front of your teeth to conceal and correct an incredible range of common esthetic flaws. At Brigham Dental Care, we have used veneers to correct:

  • Chips, cracks, and other cosmetic damage
  • Teeth that are too short or too narrow
  • Wide gaps
  • Minor misalignments
  • Discoloration

How Are Veneers Made?

You and Dr. Ebert will meet to discuss your goals for your smile and determine whether veneers are a good choice. If you and Dr. Ebert agree that veneers are right for you, Dr. Ebert will prepare your teeth and take photos and impressions. These are sent to the dental lab we trust with our high quality restorations. To protect your prepared teeth, we will place temporary veneers over your teeth. This also allows you to take your new smile for a test drive!

Once the veneers are back from the lab, we'll call you to schedule an appointment for fitting. Dr. Ebert will carefully inspect them before bonding them to your teeth. When both you and Dr. Ebert are satisfied with their appearance, your veneers will be bonded into place.

Is Any Special Care Needed for Veneers?

While veneers are designed to be durable, they will need to be replaced periodically. Because preparing your teeth for veneers requires the removal of a small amount of dental enamel, once you choose veneers, the procedure is not reversible and you will need to continue wearing veneers.

Veneers are stain resistant, but they aren’t indestructible. Good home care and regular check-ups and cleanings at Brigham Dental Care will help you keep your veneers in good shape. Avoid habits that can damage your veneers like chewing on pencils, ice, or your fingernails. If you have a clenching or grinding habit (bruxism), this will need to be addressed before we place veneers since this action can damage and dislodge the veneers.

How Can I Get Started?

The first step in transforming your smile starts when you call our Morristown dental office and schedule a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Ebert. He will examine your teeth, make sure your teeth and gums are healthy, and look for any signs of bruxism. If veneers are not a good choice for you at this time, Dr. Ebert will present you with alternatives that can help you reach your dental goals or improve your dental health so that veneers are a possibility in the future.
